Full Stabilization in Pellet Market Soon? – Military Helping Srbijasume Clearing Forest Roads

The minister of mining and energy of Serbia, Zorana Mihajlovic, has stated that the Serbian Armed Forces will help the PE Srbijasume clear forest roads, that all pellet producers will get the necessary amounts of raw wood and that, in the next ten days, a full stabilization of the market is expected, the ministry announced.

As she pointed out, efforts are being made on a daily basis for the market to be stabilized and for households to have enough pellet and firewood. She said that she was convinced that, in the next 7 to 10 days, there would be a full stabilization of the pellet market.

– We have capped the price of pellets, banned the export and we are on the way to a full stabilization of the market, especially since the Serbian Armed Forces will also help the PE Srbijasume near Knjazevac and Medvedja in clearing forest roads and there will be enough raw wood for all producers – she said.

As she emphasized, around 110,000 households use pellets, around a million use firewood and everything has been done for all categories to get the energy they use on time.

– Inspection services are in the field, however unpleasant it may be, it is necessary to show that the state monitors whether the adopted decisions are complied with. In 45 local self-governments, the control of 151 business entities was done, and 108 of them have all the necessary documentation, whereas, at 37, irregularities were determined and requests for initiating court procedures were submitted – Mihajlovic explained.
