Smoked Ham Festival in Mackat - January 14-16

The 11th festival of meat products - popular Prsutijada (Smoked Ham Festival), will be organized between January 14 and 16 in the yard of St. Ilija Church in Mackat, a village on Zlatibor that is famous for smoked ham manufacturers.

That manifestation is organized by the Town Hall of Cajetina, the Tourism Organization of Zlatibor and the Cultural Sports Center of Cajetina. The festival will gather 22 manufacturers of beef and pork smoked ham, bacon, sausages, salmon, and there will also be a rich accompanying programme and expert meetings.

The quality of products will be evaluated by visitors who will be filling in ballots. On the last day of the festival, the best manufacturers will be awarded, while some visitors will be rewarded. Those lucky ones will get a bag full of smoked ham, a square meter of bacon and ten meters of sausages.

- We have always been doing our best to make quality products in a traditional way - said Milija Brkovic from Kacer, one of the most awarded smoked ham manufacturers in the region of Uzice.
