Tender for Feasibility Study for Use of Geothermal Energy in SIV 3 Building in Belgrade Published

The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) has published the tender for the preparation of the feasibility study for the energy efficiency renovation of the SIV 3 building in New Belgrade.

The subject of the tender are jobs related to energy certification, detailed energy examinations and preparation of the feasibility study for this facility, within the preparatory activities for the program “Energy Efficiency in Central Government Buildings”.

The preliminary research results have confirmed that there is potential for the implementation of geothermal energy in all facilities, and the financial feasibility of this potential will be determined through the preparation of the feasibility study.

The tender documentation reminds that this multi-year program, which is realized with the Ministry of Mining and Energy, the Council of Europe Development Bank and the Administration for Joint Services of the Republic Bodies (UZZPRO), entails the energy efficiency renovation of 28 central government buildings in Belgrade, with a total area of 206,280 m2, the majority of which are protected as heritage buildings or are located in protected areas.

The program should result in the reduction of primary energy by at least 30%, the reduction of CO2 emissions by around 20%, improved working conditions and the preservation of cultural heritage.

A loan of EUR 40 million from the Council of Europe Development Bank is meant for the project.
