HBIS Smederevo: Income Growth of 84.5%

In 2021, in Serbia, the company HBIS realized an income growth of 84.5% compared to the income realized in 2020, which is the highest income level since the takeover of Zelezara Smederevo (Smederevo Steel Mill), announced the company representatives during their conversation with the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic.

The general manager of HBIS Smederevo, Song Sihai, pointed out that, despite the energy crisis and problems with supply in the whole world, the production of 901 thousand tons had been realized in the first nine months of 2022 and that the company’s exports to the EU27 market had amounted to 397 thousand tons in the first seven months of 2022, an increase of 3.9% compared to the same period in the previous year.

Vucic expressed his satisfaction over the fact that HBIS Group operates in a stable manner in Serbia, realizing the planned production level in the very demanding and competitive steel market, as announced on the website of the President of Serbia.
