The mayor of Belgrade, Aleksandar Sapic, said at yesterday’s session of the City Assembly that “the warm weather will last for another few days and the testing of the heating system is planned for October 31, and heating will start on November 1”.

As Beoinfo reports, he also added that the decision to postpone the heating season had been “rational and well thought-out, in line with the still present weather conditions”.

According to him, the city buys two thirds of the gas needed for heating at a preferential price, while paying the market price for the remaining third.

He also added that there was an automatic system in the heating plants which stopped heating in those days when the exterior temperature reached a certain value.

Let us remind that the “Efektiva” consumers’ organization has announced offence charges against the company Beogradske Elektrane due to the postponement of the heating season and filed a request for reducing the heating prices for the current heating season.
