"Mitrosrem" introduces biomass as main fuel

Sremska Mitrovica-based agricultural company "Mitrosrem" has almost finished realization of the project for replacing liquid fuels with biomass, which is obtained by pressing of herbs.

The equipment for use of biomass was first installed on the property of "Mitrosrem" in Veliki Radici, than on the city farm "Glac", in Martinci, Divoš and Bosut, and it is now installed on the property in Laćarak.

The plan is that "Mitrosrem’s" factory for corn processing "Kornprodukt", which now uses gas, introduces biomass as alternative fuel.

That will make it possible for "Mitrosrem" to use all remains of the herbs planted on 8,000 ha of cultivated fields for making of biomass, which will be used as the main fuel, which will result in significant savings.

According to the estimate, the investments in replacement of liqud fuels with biomass can be returned in one year.
