Price Increase Approved: From January 1, Electricity More Expensive by 8%, Gas by 11%

The Energy Agency has approved electricity and gas price increases from January 1, 2023, RTS learns.

From the beginning of 2023, the price of a kilowatt-hour of electricity will be 8% higher for households, and of gas by 11%.

According to the calculation of the Energy Agency, the bill for a household which spends around 400 kWh a month will increase up to RSD 300.

Those who use storage heaters and turn them on at night will have their bills increase up to RSD 1,000.

Those who use central heating based on electric heaters can expect their bills to increase by RSD 1,600.

The Energy Agency is obligated to notify the citizens of the increase in energy prices a month ahead.

The minister of mining and energy of Serbia, Dubravka Djedovic, announced earlier that, from January 1, electricity would be more expensive by less than 10%, and gas by 11%.
