River transport on the Brana navigation lock on the Tisa has been reinstated, following the completion of the works on the removal of the damaged column of the downstream pre-terminal of the navigation lock at the 63rd kilometer of the Tisa River.

The works, worth over RSD 20 million, which began on Saturday, were successfully completed with the taking out of the column to the coast, so that the navigation on the international Tisa River waterway could be reinstated, it is said on the website of the Public Water Management Enterprise “Vode Vojvodine”.

We remind that the navigation was stopped for safety reasons due to the likelihood of an uncontrolled collapse of the damaged column into the waterway, so an alternative route was used.

Next year, when the conditions for it meet, the plan is to start the activities toward the installation of a new column on the Brana navigation lock on the Tisa, but unobstructed navigation will be enabled for the duration of the works, it is added.
