Consultant for works on Corridor 10 - Arup wins first highway project in Serbia
After a rigorous submission and tough negotiations with the World Bank, Arup has signed a contract for consultant supervision of the Environmental Management Plan (EMP) on Corridor 10.
Arup’s contract includes helping to ensure effective implementation of the EMPs and mitigation plan during the construction of the highway. The company will also supervise all environmental components, ensuring they are properly integrated into all project operations. This will include the initial training, review and preparatory phase works, followed by the implementation period for direct monitoring and reporting.
Part of the section that Arup is involved in is approximately 150 km long.
Corridor 10 is the most prestigious
highway project in the Balkan Region. The total cost of the project is
estimated at €1.3bn. Finance is intended from the Serbian Government, the World
Bank, the European Investment Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and
Development, and Greece’s Hellenic Plan.
