Greenhouse Investments invests EUR 100 million in corporate bonds market and acquisition of bank in Serbia
The British investment fund Greenhouse Investments plans to take over a bank in Serbia soon. This has been confirmed for eKapija by Michael O' Leary Collins, the Director General of that company.
That investment fund will invest EUR 100 million in businesses in Serbia and it also plans to start purchasing corporate bonds from domestic companies once it completes the acquisition of a bank.
Greenhouse is already registered in Serbia and the first investments are expected to be made within next two months.
Owing to complicated procedures, only three domestic companies have issued corporate bonds to date.
Mr. O' Leary Collins says that the future set of amendments and supplements to the Law on takeover of stock companies will facilitate the process of issuing bonds and that Greenhouses sees that as an investment opportunity.
- We already have a regional experience. We have invested about EUR 200 million in residential development projects in Romania, while our operations in Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina will start at the same time - Mr. O' Leary Collins points out.
