The PE Roads of Serbia has published the tender for the preparation of the planning-technical documentation for the construction of the South Bypass Route Around Valjevo.

The South Bypass Route Around Valjevo will spread through the industrial zone Goric-Iverak and connect two state roads – IA-grade state road no. 27 (connection to the fast route under construction Iverak-Lajkovac) and IA-grade state road no. 21.

The existing IB-grade state road no. 27 passes through the central areas of Valjevo, so the mixing of transit traffic and city traffic, along with the railway and the rail station, causes numerous problems at the peak traffic load, says the project task.

It is added that the construction of this connection would considerably reduce said problems, and all the transit traffic would be redirected out of Valjevo.

The bypass route is designed for speeds up to 100 km/h and the plan is for it to have four driving lanes of 3.5 m each, four breakdown lines of 0.5 m each, a median strip of 4 m and merging and diverging lanes of 3.5 m each.

The obligation of the designer is to prepare the preliminary design for said section for the purposes of issuing location requirements.

At the level of the preliminary project, it is also necessary to determine a just compensation for the owners of the land, facilities and plantations so as to get realistic data on the funds necessary for the expropriation, as well as an estimate of the value of the works on the construction of the bypass route. The tender is open until January 31, and the value of the job has been estimated at RSD 25 million. More details HERE.

Let us remind that, in January, the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure opened the public invitation for the selection of the strategic partner for the construction of the south bypass route around Valjevo and the bypass route around Svilajnac.

As the Government of Serbia announced in the Official Gazette in early March, the job was awarded to the consortium of the companies Srbijaautoput doo Beograd, Integral Inzenjering ad Laktasi, MHM Projekt doo Novi Sad, Institut za puteve ad Beograd and Teamenergo doo Beograd, and the then minister of construction, Tomislav Momirovic, announced back in February the beginning of the construction of the south bypass route around Valjevo.

The construction of the bypass around Valjevo in the length of approximately five kilometers is planned in two phases. The first part, in the length of about 2.2 kilometers, envisages a loop at the connection with the future Lajkovac-Iverak motorway, and the second part includes the bypass in the length of about 2.8 kilometers, with planned regulation of the Kolubara river.
