Luss Textile to Build New Factory in Krusevac – Jobs for More Than 500 Textile Workers

The biggest local textile company, Luss Textile from Raska, will build and open the most modern factory in this part of Europe in the territory of the City of Krusevac in 2023, and over 500 workers will be employed.

In the past 15 years, this is the biggest local investment in the textile industry in Serbia that will be realized by a company from Raska, and which, several days ago, acquired the Italian factory Gruppo Fiorentino from Vlasotince, where another 120 textile workers will be employed.

– The business plan for next year is the opening of the most modern factory in this part of Europe, which will be opened in the Rasina District, in the territory of the City of Krusevac. Within this investment, the plan is to employ over 500 workers after the factory opens – says Sava Mitrovic, the owner of Luss Textile, which employs 350 workers in Raska, according to the website of the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia.

In a short amount of time, the Serbia company became a strategic supplier and partner for the largest world fashion brands, it takes part in the dual education process and employs workers from Kosovo and Metohija too, as pointed out by the Association for the Textile, Clothing, Leather and Footwear Industry at the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia.

According to official data, nearly 61,000 workers are employed in the textile industry in Serbia, which comprises 2.7% of the total employment rate in Serbia. Last year, the retail sale of garments exceeded EUR 1 billion, which is 12% more than in 2020.
