Biggest Private Solar Power Plant to Be Built in Lapovo, Electricity Supply to Begin in March

On 12 hectares in Lapovo, in early September 2022, the construction of the biggest solar power plant in Serbia began and once it’s done, it will deliver about 10 MW of electrical energy to EPS.

The building permit and all other required permits have been obtained, so the administration of the municipality of Lapovo has shown itself to be a very constructive partner in this very important project.

The investor is the company DeLasol, and according to Milos Kostic, the owner of the local company MT-Komex, which is in charge of the construction of a facility, works on the setting up of the structural system, the carrier of the panels, are in progress. Immediately following the holidays, the works will continue with the mounting of the solar panels and they are expected to be fully finished by March 1 this year.

According to experts, the new power plant will start producing electricity as soon as March, namely, 15 to 16 megawatt-hours a year, depending on the number of sunny days.

The investment in the new solar facility in Lapovo amounts to around EUR 9 million, and exclusively Serbia people and local companies are involved in all the jobs, from the idea, to the designing and construction of the facility.

That this is a grandiose project is also shown by the fact that 17,980 panels will be installed, and this renewable energy source will have a power of 9.913 MW.

The investor DeLasol has opted for bifacial solar panels, because they are able to collect the sunrays reflected from the base layer and produce electricity more efficiently than power plants with monofacial panels.
