Local projects, such as the tractor which will be produced at the Majevica factory near Backa Palanka and the device for the destruction of ambrosia, drew a lot of attention from the public. It is precisely those two stories that were the most read on our portal on the list of investments in the field of agriculture and food industry.
These are the stories that drew the most attention from eKapija’s users.
1. Domestic Majevica Tractor
The Majevica factory near Backa Palanka is planning the line production of the only domestic tractor in Serbia from 2023. The tractor will be available for sale exclusively in a package with operating machines and the procurement of a tractor with seven operating machines required for the operations of each agricultural property will cost around EUR 100,000. This is a project that has been developed exclusively with the funds of Majevica and through the work of the employees at this local company.
A 90-horsepower tractor is planned, meant for small and medium agricultural properties, for all agritechnical measures.
2. Ambrozer device for destroying ambrosia
The electrical engineer, innovator and entrepreneurs Milos Stankovic has patented the Ambrozer device for destroying weeds, which uses radio-frequencies and electricity, without chemical compounds or pesticides, to root out the weeds, in an ecological manner.
Stankovic has filed for a patent (PCT) in 148 countries, providing proof that the kind of a product that he has invented doesn’t exist anywhere else in the world and that it has industrial application.

3. Agricultural complex of Login family near Zrenjanin – 4000 ha
The company LoginEKO from Slovenia came to the center of attention after it bought over 4,000 hectares of land in the immediate and wider Zrenjanin area, where it plans to do organic production. Its founder and the owner of the Login5 foundation, Samo Login, points out that their main task is for health food to be accessible to everybody.
In an interview for eKapija, Login talks about his development and how he has gone “from software to a farm”, what links these two concepts and how he sees his role as a manager.
4. Agrosolar Kula project
With the signing of the memorandum of understanding with the Chinese company Power China, the companies Fintel Energija and MK Group officially began the realization of the joint project Agrosolar in Kula. Having positioned themselves as leaders in the production of electricity from wind energy, they are starting a pioneering endeavor which uses solar power and at the same time enables a sustainable agricultural production beneath the solar panels. This is the first project of its type in the Balkans and the biggest one in Europe, and the value of the investment is EUR 340 million.

5. Agricultural complex of Milan Macvan
“Just buy land” – that’s the advice that the then Hemofarm’s basketball player Milan Macvan received from a banker back in 2009. He didn’t take it seriously at the time, but today, agriculture is his profession.
He entered the field of agriculture with his family in 2016 and he first started producing hazelnuts, then sour cherries, and then he started crop farming as well – they now have over 120 hectares under maize and 25 hectares under wheat.
6. Nestle factory Surcin
Nestle marked the completion of the first phase of the construction of a new factory in Surcin in February 2022. The new facility will use locally-grown soybean and be meant for the production of the Garden Gourmet plant-based portfolio. The planned production capacity of the factory is 12,000 tons a year, and exports are planned to France, Germany, Netherlands, Italy, Spain and Great Britain. The new factory will spread on 18,440 square meters and is located close to the existing Nestle factory in Surcin, which has been working since 2012. The beginning of production at the new factory was planned for the final quarter of 2022.

7. TIM tractor factory
Many investors called the constructor Petar Grbic from the old IMT factory, because they had no one to address, in the hope that he might launch the initiative to make a new TIM factory. Following a good response and numerous calls from farmers thanks to his TV and social network appearances, he decided to take that step.
He gathered a team of engineers who began to design exclusively the most modern machines that currently exist in the world. The plan is for everything that IMT produced, except for motors, to also be produced at the new factory.
8. Api Trade factory for production of bee supplements Leskovac
The company Api Trade from Leskovac has been producing liquid and solid food and protective products for bees, as well as honeycomb bases, for 20 years now, and now it is expanding its production capacities by launching a facility in Leskovac on around 700 m2, which will be the biggest factory in Serbia for the production of supplements for beekeeping.

9. Continental Tobacco facility for production of Hungarian instant soups and health food Simanovci and Subotica
The company Continental Tobacco doo Beograd is to build facilities for the production of soups, gruels and health food in Simanovci and Subotica.
As the director of this company, Marko Devrnja, said for eKapija, the investment is worth EUR 14 million.
– On a total of 15,000 m2, storage space for rent and production facilities are to be built. We are not yet sure whether to develop our own brand, which we have an idea to call On My Way, or to buy a small brand which already exists in our market, somewhat known, with which we would then continue the positioning – our interviewee says.
10. New Smoki factory Belgrade
During the signing of the agreement on the extension of the cooperation of Arena and Atlantic Stark, the new investment of Atlantic Grupa in Belgrade – a Smoki factory in Peka Dapcevica Street – was announced.
