He announced that, after the obtaining of the construction permit, a month and a half to two months later, the works on the section from Kosutnjak to the Ada Bridge would begin.
– The reconstructed part of Patrijarha Pavla Blvd has two lanes in each direction. Tram tracks have not been laid down because of the impossibility of connecting them with the tram tracks on the Ada Bridge, until the relevant phase of the works is fully finished. The reconstruction of the boulevard is very important for the citizens of Rakovica and this part of the city, because, the completion of the works will loosen the bottleneck which exists at the moment – said the mayor.
When it comes to the works on the part from the Ada Bridge to Kosutnjak, Sapic said that the Serbian Railways company had started moving the rail infrastructure.
– The building permit for that section should be issued in the next month and a half to two months, which means that, if the deadlines are honored, the connecting with the Ada Bridge will be completed in the summer of 2024. That means that the tram infrastructure will also be connected with the Ada Bridge and that there will be two lanes in each direction, which will give the full purpose to this whole project – Sapic emphasized.
As he said, the public procurement procedure for the designing of the third phase, from the intersection with Pere Velimirovica Street to Rakovica has been opened.
The mayor also announced that the city would commence the works in Drajzerova Street, which would have three lanes, in 2023.
– We will have a system there like the one in Kneza Milosa Street, where which lanes are given advantage will depend on peak traffic, which will additionally facilitate the current situation – Sapic concluded, as reported by Beoinfo.
