In the first 11 months of last year, a total of 3,5 million tourist visits were recorded in Serbia, or 53.9% more than in the same period of 2021, and around a million of them visited Belgrade. The region also recorded a success. Montenegro had a season above all expectations whereas Bosnia and Herzegovina was visited in even greater numbers by primarily foreign tourists.
The most popular Serbian destinations in 2022 were Belgrade, Kopaonik, Zlatibor, Vrnjacka Banja, Subotica, Tara and Sokobanja. Tourist were also choosing Vrdnik, Lukovska Banja and Divcibare. This season will be just as successful judging by how fast the vacation vouchers sold.
The last year`s success of Serbian tourism was also helped by a great number of organized business meetings. Our country is among the 50 leading countries in the world when it comes to congress tourism, currently placing 47th, according to the Tourism Organization of Serbia (TOS).
When it comes to the pearls of the region, Montenegro has its seaside and the beauty of its mountains. There is Kolasin, Bar with the surrounding area, Boka with its luxury setllements, Budva which has been considered a capital of tourism for years now, Zabljak/Durmitor and the increasingly popular rural tourism.
Jahorina is the flagship of tourism of Bosnia and Herzegovina, but Naum is right there as well, and it was an especially attractive destination during the pandemic. There are also the ever-popular Trebinje, Visegrad with Andricgrad, Sarajevo and the national parks Kozara, Una , Foca, rafting on the Vrbas and Neretva.
It is precisely thanks to the beauty of these and other pearls of the region that we are presenting our Special Edition Newsletter “Tourism – From Business to Pleasure With a Wealth of Choice”.
In it, we will present the potentials of the region through various prisms. We will talk about the business sector – trends and projections as well as the specific offers when it comes to congresses, seminars, and fairs. We will present the current attractive offers, point to how it is possible to combine the best of both worlds through spa and health tourism as well as through team building, but also give suggestions as to where you can enjoy the hedonistic experience.
