Consortium of citizens to buy "Sloga"
“Municipality of Trstenik has started initiative for founding of consortium of citizens of Serbia and diaspora for the sake of participation in privatization of Trstenik-based company ‘Nova Sloga’”, said the Mayor of that Municipality Radovan Radović. The interest of Municipality of Trstenik is that the citizens use their own means to buy “Sloga” on the forthcoming tender, because the entire Municipality will benefit from that when the company is put into operation and when it “draws” agricultural and processing industry, employs workers and peasants and contributes to the economic development of the entire region.
“Trstenik-based company ‘Nova Sloga’ has 150 employees and, since it has become property of ‘Srbijašume’, it was brought to the ‘dead point’ five or six times, said Radović and added that "he will not allow that some Croatian company ‘Agrokor` buys the most significant part of `Sloga` - the Mineral Water Factory `Mivela`".
"Sloga" owns 31.5 ha of land, apple plantation, wineyard, farm, slaughterhouse, cold storage plant, alcohol distillery, spice production, kiln, wine cellar and mineral water factory "Mivela".
Consortium "Mivela" is some kind of the investment fund made of several thousands of citizens of Serbia who will each invest 1,000 CSD or more in pprocurement of 70% of assets of the company whose estimated value is about €3.5m and registered losses amount to about €1.2m.
