General Project for Kraljevo-Novi Pazar Fast Route Adopted – 202 Bridges and 15 Intersections, Construction Possible as Soon as Next Year

The Reviewee Commission has adopted the general project of the fast route from Kraljevo to Novi Pazar, which is the first step toward the construction of this road, stated the minister of construction, transport and infrastructure of Serbia, Goran Vesic.

Vesic explained that, after the adoption of this document, the preparation of the preliminary design and the project for the construction permit was to follow and that the PE Roads of Serbia already had a selected designer for it. He added that, if there were enough money, the construction of the road could start in 2024.

The route of the future corridor goes from the Milos Veliki highway, that is, the Preljina interchange, the Adrani interchange in the territory of the city of Kraljevo, Drakcic, the Vrdilska Reka stream valley, through Konarevo, Mataruska Banja, Bogutovacka Banja, Maglic Grad, down the valley of the Ibar to Usce, down the valley of the Radusa to Biljanovac, through Brvenik to Raska, and then down the valley of the Raska to the planned bypass route around Novi Pazar, he specified.

The minister said that the length of the Kraljevo-Novi Pazar fast route would be 83.4 kilometers, with 13 de-leveled intersections and two roundabouts planned on the route, along with two rests and one two-sided parking area.

– 202 bridges will be built, that is, 101 bridges in each direction, with a total length of 37.12 kilometers – Vesic said and added that the estimated value of the construction was RSD 18 million kilometers, but that the final price would be determined at a tender.

He said that, following the completion of the construction of the fast route, it would take less than two and a half hours to travel from Novi Pazar to Belgrade, and noted that the road would secure development and investments for Novi Pazar, Raska and Kraljevo.
