–The leading travel bodies are suggesting that up to 90% of travelers will book travel based on the content that they see on social media first. So for many of us, when we are first thinking about or are inspired by a destination, it is because we are scrolling through Instagram or we`re on TikTok, he says and adds:
– As much as 40% of younger travelers aren`t even using Google search or Google Maps anymore. They `re going into TikTok or Instagram, typing in the hashtags of places, or the restaurants they want to go to, so as to explore them beforehand. So I think it`s a huge shift that is starting to happen within these platforms for the way people actually discover travel.
Often described as the environmental changemaker, Jeremy is a big advocate for sustainable travel.
–We need to push people to go to places that they perhaps haven`t gone to before. Social media is an amazing way to do just that, Jeremy says.
