Construction of water factory "Makiš 2" starts in spring
Construction of water factory "Makiš 2" will start in spring this year. The preliminary project for this unit, which did not pass the control by the experts from the CIP Institute in April 2005, was corrected, recontrolled and forwarded to the members of the State Inspection Team.
Judging by the CIP’s report, the errors from the preliminary project have been corrected. Israeli company «TAHAL Consulting Engineers Ltd», (www.tahal.co.il) which was hired for delivery of processing equipment and planning, and Public Utility Company «Beogradski vodovod i kanalizacija», which is the investor and is in charge of design of feasibility study, handed the corrected documentation on January 16.
Milan Miljević, which is in charge of the civil engineering in the Ministry of Capital Investments, explains that the investor will collect all necessary documents before spring. The commencement of the construction of «Makiš 2» is, by the way, late for 2.5 years.
Due to delay, the city of Belgrade pays fines, because it have not started to use the loan of €20m approved by European Bank for Rehabilitation and Development in 2001.
By putting «Makiš 2» into operation, the problem of water supply of inhabitants of Kaluđerica, Grocka, Vinča, Sopot and the villages beneath Avala mountain and around roads to Mladenovac should be solved.
