As socially responsible operations are the strategic orientation of the company, continued investments and care for children, the young and families will also be in focus in the year in which MK Group celebrates an important anniversary – 40 years of successful operations.
For kindergartens in Serbia, the renovation or equipping of their spaces, MK Group and AIK Bank have set aside an amount of EUR 200,000, focusing on the municipalities in which they operate: Vrbas, Becej, Kovacica, Pecinci, Novi Sad, Raska, Golubac and Nis. On that occasion, a meeting was held at the Government of the Republic of Serbia. The prime minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabic, thanked the companies for their contribution to the economic life of Serbia and expressed her satisfaction about the fact that the Government of Serbia would work with them on that important project.
– MK Group and AIK Bank are among the investors which operate successfully in Serbia and the region. An aspect without which a state cannot be successful are socially responsible business operations. I am especially glad that these companies are donating funds of EUR 200,000 to kindergartens in our country, in eight local self-governments, in a year in which they are celebrating an anniversary. I believe that, with the help of the ministry, we will invest the funds where they are the most needed, so that it would be complementary with everything that the government has done so far. This is an example of how to do business for all other companies as well – emphasized the prime minister, Ana Brnabic.
In addition to prime minister Brnabic, the meeting was attended by the minister of education of Serbia, Branko Ruzic, who also expressed his gratitude to companies for improving the conditions in preschool institutions. Through cooperation with the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the competent ministry, the donors will get support in the process of defining the mechanisms for realizing the donations and determining the purpose of the funds in line with priority needs.
– I am proud that, on behalf of MK Group, I can say that, for the seventh year in a row, together with AIK Bank, we are realizing the socially responsible program “Family Support”. This year, donations worth EUR 600,000 are intended for improving the conditions in kindergartens in Serbia and the region. Gifting the youngest ones is the best way of commencing the marking of our anniversary, four decades of business operations. In 2023 alone, we will set aside over EUR 1 million for various activities directed at children, because, by investing in them, we are celebrating the future – stated Mihailo Jankovic, the CEO of MK Group.
– In all communities we operate in, we actively contribute to improving the conditions in which children grow up, get educated and develop. I am glad that we expand our “Family Support” program with new activities each year and that this year’s donations are intended for kindergartens in which our children spend their first years. Care for the youngest ones is care for the shared future of us all – said Jelena Galic, the president of the Executive Board of AIK Bank.
The “Family Support” program exists since 2017, when it was launched with the aim of awarding money to MK Group and AIK Bank employees who became parents, after which it expanded externally, through donations to institutions which deal with children and the young, as well as the strengthening of the family as the basic unit of the society. Last year, the project dealt with improving the conditions in maternity wards, focusing on babies, pregnant women and new mothers, whereas this year, the topic is preschool education and development of children aged one to six.
