How to preserve pastures in Vojvodina - Jovica Bozic and Zoran Gajic plan to open golf course complex near Pancevo
Jovica Bozic, the owner of BiS-Reciklazni Centar (BiS-Recycling Center) and former member of the national karate team of Yugoslavia, and Zoran Gajic, a world-acknowledged volleyball expert and the winner of an Olympic gold medal, plan to have golf courses built in the vicinity of Pancevo.
Old pals and former athletes from Omoljica have come to that idea in the wish to preserve beautiful pastures in Vojvodina. Zoran Gajic stated that a golf course complex could be opened near Pancevo. According to Jovica Bozic, the plan is that this project also be offered to other municipalities interested in developing this sport, which would need to provide between 30 and 50 hectares of uncultivable land that could be turned into golf courses.
- Large landfills and deserted pastures would be ideal for conversion into golf courses, while being ecologically justified as well - says Jovica Bozic.
- If we include in the project the construction of a country club with few other sports contents such as swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi, volleyball and basketball fields, football pitch, tennis courses, I believe that such contents would be primarily interesting to members of diplomatic corps and foreign representatives who live in Belgrade, in the vicinity of our city of Pancevo.
These athletes believe that the newly formed Agency for the Economic Development of Pancevo will show the initiative and be efficient enough to start working on this idea as soon as possible so that golfers from Pancevo and Belgrade would not have to go to Indjija and Zrenjanin any more to play that sport because the construction of golf courses primarily represents a chance for the recovery of tourist and catering potentials of Pancevo.
