Vescovini seeks workers for car parts plant in Sabac
Federico Vescovini, one of the owners of Italian plant Vescovini, had a meeting yesterday in the City Hall of Sabac with Mayor Milos Milosevic, representatives of local self-government and managers of public companies, with whom he talked about details of the cooperation and future steps.
A Letter of Intent for the construction of SBE Srbija plant within the company Vescovini Group, which is headquartered in the city of Monfalcone in the north of Italy, was signed in February. It is a factory of mechanical parts for the automotive industry, of which production plants are situated in Italy, Japan, and Taiwan. Negotiations on the arrival of Italian investors in Sabac commenced in May 2010. Signing of the Letter of Intent created conditions for the acquisition of two completely equipped lots in Northwest industrial zone, spanning a total of seven hectares.
According to the words of Federico Vescovini, job vacancies will be advertised next week, while workers are expected to be hired as soon as all permits are obtained and aforementioned lots are acquired. Mr. Vescovini also expressed satisfaction with the agreement reached with the local self-government in Sabac and the selected location for the construction of the plant.
As Sabac Mayor pointed out, long-term investments and equipping of Northwest industrial zone are meaningful only if foreign investors are interested in such activities.
