In 2023, EPS earns EUR 55 million from electricity sale

In free market trade this year, EPS has made a profit of EUR 55 million, which is EUR 5 million more than planned, Miroslav Tomasevic, acting director of Elektroprivreda Srbije, said.

According to the company's announcement, in the first four days of April, EPS has earned EUR 4 million in sales at the wholesale market.

- In a single year, the situation has completely changed and EPS is now the leading exporter of electricity in the region - says Tomasevic.

According to the announcement, in the first three months of this year, the electricity production within EPS facilities has reached 9.76 billion kWh, 17% higher compared to the same period last year.

- The hydrologic situation is significantly better than in 2022, and compared to the first quarter of last year, EPS hydro-power plants produced 32% more electricity. Both the Danube and the Drina hydro-power plants make maximum use of the inflows.

The thermal capacity result is 10% better compared to the first quarter of 2022.

- HPP Zvornik achieved a record monthly production of 79.3 million kWh, whereas HPP Djerdap has reached a monthly record of 173.78 million kWh on March 2, 2023. In March, both HPPs also had daily production records, and we expect that the good hydrologic trend will continue in the coming days. For HPP Zvornik, these results are another confirmation of the successfully completed revitalization, which brought an additional 30 MW of power to our oldest HPP on the Drina river - the announcement concludes.
