After yesterday`s announcement by the mayor of Belgrade, Aleksandar Sapic, that the Belgrade public transport system will change, and that instead of a time ticket, which is valid for 90 minutes and costs 89 dinars, a daily ticket of 200 dinars will be introduced, it turns out that time ticket will continue to exist and the cheapest one will cost 50 dinars.

Sapic stated on TV Happy that the novelty compared to yesterday`s announcement is the additional reduction in the price of the monthly ticket for zone one, and the lower price of the 90-minute time ticket.

- The 90-minute time ticket costed 90 dinars, and now it will be 50, whereas the daily ticket for both zones will be 200 dinars. A seven-day ticket, also for both zones, will cost one thousand dinars, which is what a three-day ticket used to cost. The next big thing is the price of monthly tickets, which ranged from 2,990 to 4,990 dinars, depending on the zone. Now zone A or zone B will cost 2,500 dinars, and both zones together 3,500 dinars. The discounts, therefore, go up to almost fifty percent, which I think will make people decide to pay for transportation - said Sapic.

The new proposal, compared to the one announced yesterday, is that the annual ticket costs 25,000 for one zone, or 35,000 for both zones.

A new technical solution was also presented on the official city website. This proposal, to be implemented at an unknown point in the future, has a total of 11 changes related to zones, the collection control and the way tickets are bought. Also, in this technical solution, there is no mention of time tickets, which Sapic announced just this morning.

According to the document available online, instead of the existing four zones and seven tariffs, two zones and two tariffs will apply in the future.

The change that caused the most controversy is the one concerning the abolition of the time ticket, valid for 90 minutes and costing 89 dinars, and which, as stated in the document, should be replaced by a daily ticket, the price of which will be 200 dinars for both zones - without the introduction of one-way tickets. However, judging by the latest information, there will still be changes in this regard.

Instead of the existing one-day, three-day and five-day tickets, a seven-day ticket will be introduced, which will cost 1,000 dinars for both zones.

Monthly tickets
, the price of which ranged from 2,990 to 4,990 dinars, will cost 3,000 or 3,500 dinars, depending on whether it is the first or second zone, whereas annual tickets will cost 30,000 for the first and 35,000 for the second zone.

A significant novelty also concerns the purchase of transport tickets, which will no longer be available for purchase at kiosks, nor at the driver, but via SMS or app, as well as at PE sales points for ticket collection, whose locations are not known as of yet.

City transport will be free for students up to the age of 19 and for people over 65 years of age, and all privileged categories that pay a cheaper ticket price will have one single tariff, which is valid for both zones and amounts to 1,000 dinars.

The work of ticket control and collection of fines will be taken over by "BELI" ("the Whites", formerly known as communal militia, and before that - communal police).

- If they find a passenger without a ticket, and as officials, from now on, they are the only ones who can control, legitimize and hand over the order for the payment of the fine, they do not stop the bus and do not detain all the passengers, but hand out an order for the payment of a special ticket, for which there is a time limit for payment - the document states.

A passenger who has been handed an order to pay for a special ticket will not be required to leave the vehicle.

When the new ticket collection system comes into force, ticket validators in public transport vehicles will be abolished, and entry and exit of passengers will be possible at all doors.
