– When it comes to inflation expectations for two and three years ahead, for both the financial sector and the economy, they are considerably lower compared to short-term expectations. The expectations of the representatives of the financial sector for two years ahead remain unchanged compared to the previous survey and amount to 5%, whereas for a period of three years ahead, they have continued moving within the target bands of the NBS, at a level of 4%. As for medium-term expectations of the economy, they remain unchanged and amount to 7% for a period of two years ahead, whereas for a period of three years ahead, they are at 5% – the NBS says.
The results of the survey which pertain to the perception of the inflation for two and three years ahead point to the fact that both the financial sector and the economy expect the inflation pressures to lower in the coming period and the inflation to gradually return within the target band in the medium term.
