Djuraskovic sells part of Nibens Group
Milo Djuraskovic, owner of Nibens Group, says that the company plans to come out of the crisis by selling all parts of the group that are not engaged in the core business. In addition, the sale of certain parts of the company that are engaged in the construction of roads, that is, the core business, is also possible.
Mr. Djuraskovic did not specify either which parts of Nibens Group might be put up for sale or when, how and to whom they would be offered.
Employees at road construction companies Beograd, Vranje, Nis, Kragujevac, who are currently on strike, gathered this morning in front of the administrative building of Nibens Group in Vozdovac to stage a protest walk through Belgrade.
Nibens Group is the largest domestic company in the road maintenance sector and it comprises five road construction and maintenance companies and one construction company, as well as another six companies operating in other fields.
Mr. Djuraskovic says that the company experienced first problems with the emergence of the economic crisis in 2009.
According to his words, the volume of works dropped by 30% in 2009 and by additional 30% in 2010, but there was no dismissal of workers in that period.
