Deadline for Application for Woman Engineer of the Year in Serbia Extended

The Chamber of Commerce of Serbia (CCIS), the company Siemens Serbia and the association Inzenjerka godine (Woman Engineer of the Year) have extended the deadline for submitting nominations for the Woman Engineer of the Year 2023 until May 5, so as to enable as many candidates as possible to take part in the upcoming selection for the most inspirational woman in local engineering, the CCIS announced.

The Woman Engineer of the Year Initiative was launched by these three organizations with the aim of motivating young women, especially high school students, to opt for studies and subsequently a career in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics). On that occasion, on April 7, the selection for the woman engineer in Serbia was opened, and applications will remain open for another two weeks, that is, until May 5.

The organizers are inviting women engineers from all of Serbia to apply for said selection so as to encourage, by personal example, as many young women as possible to choose a career in the STEM field and thereby contribute to a higher share of women in this field. With a reminder that the future of the world, economic and technological development is in the hands of engineering, said selection is an opportunity for the Serbian and wider public to hear inspirational stories of women engineers from various fields (technical, mechanical, technological-metallurgy and (bio)medical sciences, informatics, mathematics and others).
