Recycling is, in short, a process of converting waste materials into new products. There are differing opinions about whether recycling is good or not and in what product phase should recycling start.

Along with disparate views and opinions on recycling, there are some fascinating details that are important and worth knowing, regardless of your stance. So, here are seven interesting facts about recycling that you should know.

Recycling just one aluminum can save enough energy to power a TV for three hours or save up two liters of gasoline.

– Recycling one tonne of paper saves up around two and a half tonnes of oil, 26 tonnes of water and around three cubic meters of a landfill.
– Energy conserved from recycling one glass bottle can power a 100-watt lightbulb for four hours.
Also, it reduces air pollution by 20% and water pollution by 50% than when a new bottle is manufactured from raw material.
– 27,000 trees are cut down every day just to make toilet paper.

– Recycling one plastic bottle saves enough energy to power a 60-watt lightbulb for up to six hours.
– A glass bottle would take more than 4,000 years to decompose , even if it`s not in a landfill anymore.
– Thousands of sea creature are killed by mistakenly ingesting plastic bags that resemble jellyfish.

Will you continue to throw away cans? Will you recycle plastic bottles to conserve energy or will you continue to throw them in the trash. Think again before you throw away a plastic bottle or a plastic bag when visiting the beach.
