This achieves considerably higher operating and logistic efficiency and increases the production rate by nearly 50%. At the same time, CO2 emissions in the distribution process is reduced by more than 1,000 tons a year (a reduction by 20%) and up to 100% usage of the total production capacities is reached, the press release says.
Neda Djokic, the general manager of Heineken Srbija, pointed out that the investments in the brewery in Novi Sad were a symbol of the company’s long-term sustainable operations in Serbia.
The ambassador of the Netherlands to Serbia, Joost Reintjes, said that bilateral trade between the Netherlands and Serbia had exceeded EUR 1 billion and that the Netherlands was still one of the most significant sources of FDI investments in Serbia.
As many as 84% of the ingredients that Heineken uses in the production of beer come from Vojvodina, and the value of the purchase from local suppliers amounts to EUR 11 million on an annual level.
