"Knauf" in Vunizol invests in new powers, ecologic protection, and waste storage for secure putting off of waste, with a doubled production

The factory of mineral wool "Knauff" (ex industry "Vunizol) in Bijelo Polje, near Surdulica, will start this year a construction of the most modern production powers which are pleasing to the most strict ecological standards.

It is a matter of the biggest and the most significant development project in the long term history of the company, but also in the commerce of the county of Surdulica, whose value is 10 millions eur.

The goal is to protect the environment from damaging evaporations and gases which are made in the process of production of mineral, that is rock wool.

There will be built a waste storage for safe putting off of the waste material, for which there will be given more than 3.5 millions eur.

The installation of the new powers will allow to "Knauff" an increase of the annual production of mineral (rock) wool from 10.000 - 20.000 tones.

Mineral wool is used as isolation material in construction, for hot water and other installations, in the industry of white techniques and other areas.

The ex "Vunizol" factory in Bijelo Polje, was privatized at an auction in 2005.

In "Knauff" was produced during the last year around 10.000 tones of mineral wool, out of which 70% was delivered to the buyers in Bulgaria, Austria, Romania, Greece and Italy.
