The company Beogradski metro i voz, has published the tender for the technical control of the geotechnical study for the section of Line 2 of the subway from the Sava Square station to Grcica Milenka Street station.

On this section, four underground subway stations are planned: Slavija, Karadjordje Park, Juzni Blvd and Grcica Milenka Street.

Three ventilation-evacuation shafts are also planned, between the stations: Sava Square-Slavija; Slavija-Karadjordje Park and Karadjordje Park-Juzni Blvd.

Based on the Pre-Feasibility Study with the General Project, two Belgrade subway lines are defined. The study analyses the options for phase-based construction for both lines. The length of the second phase of Line 1 is 4.9 km with 5 stations. The length of Line 2 is 20.6 km with 22 stations.

– During the preparation of the preliminary design of the second phase of Line 1 and the preliminary design of Line 2, due to spatial and technical limitations, there was a change of the route of the second phase of Line 1, as well as the route of Line 2 – says the documentation, with the note that the exact positions and the dimensions of the stations and the ventilation-evacuation shafts will be determined through the further development of the project documentation, that is, in the phase of the preparation of the preliminary design.

The deadline for the realization of the service cannot be longer than one year.

The deadline for the submission of bids is June 13, 2023.

Let us remind that, as eKapija has already written, the consultant Egis Rail has defined a new, more optimal solution for the section from the Sava Square station to Grcica Milenka Street station.

For that line, from the Sava Square to Slavija, a whole different route has been proposed, with a deviation beneath the historic center – a tunnel that would cut the Kralja Milana Streeet route in the zone of the New Palace, as well as the route of Kneza Milosa Street, beneath the Embassy of Turkey. Behind Slavija, the connection with the suburban railway (BG Voz) is no longer planned in Makenzijeva Street, in which there will be no new rail underground stop, but near the Karadjordje Park.
