The Ministry of Health has opened the public procurement procedure for the reconstruction and construction of a part of the IIa phase of the Clinical Center of Serbia. The works within phase IIa encompass the remaining strengthening of the structure of the facility of the whole phase II and changes in a part of the space of the Nuclear Medicine, carried out within phase I.

The central facility of the University Clinical Center of Serbia consists of a podium (the wide part of the facility which consists of three underground levels, the ground floor and two upper floors) and a vertical body which consists of two, physically and functionally connected, towers.

Before the works started in 2016, the facility consisted of a podium and one tower, and only the part of the podium meant for the Polyclinic was operational. For the purposes of reconstruction, extension and adaptation of the central facility, the main project was prepared, encompassing the adaptation and reconstruction of all parts of the existing facility, the extension of another tower, the reconstruction of the connection between the towers, the construction of new vertical communications and new parts of the podium.

Due to the need to have the part of the podium where the Polyclinic is located be operational all the time, the works are split into two phases, considering the functional and technical demands of complex medical technology. Phase I encompasses the construction of a new tower and the reconstruction of the part of the podium that was not operational, whereas phase II encompasses the reconstruction of the existing tower and the part of the podium where the Polyclinic is located.

The works of phase I are in the final stage, and due to the changes that occurred within phase I, the new needs of the users, changes to the regulations that came into effect in the meantime, and the necessity of adapting to the delivered medical equipment, it is necessary to make changes to the main project.

Bids may be submitted by July 17.
