Construction of New Terminal Building at Nis Airport in Final Stages – Runway to Be Expanded Only Once Railroad Is Moved

In June alone, 374 aircraft passed through the Nis Constantine the Great Airport, and 42,946 passengers were transported. In the first half of the year, the number of the passengers is 207,530 in total, which is one third more than in the same period last year.

The construction of the new terminal building at the Nis Airport is in the final stages, and upon the completion of the works, the Constantine the Great Airport will be able to handle many more passengers – up to a million and a half a year. The new part of the building is planned for the departing passengers, with ten check-in counters and four exits.

However, until the railroad is moved, the runway cannot be expanded, the director of the Constantine the Great Airport, Dusan Knezevic, stated for Zona Plus.
