Recently, in Kraljevo, to the end of raising the tourism of the Kraljevo area to a higher level, around RSD 450 million was approved within the co-financing of development projects of the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure for the construction of a traffic access to the medieval Maglic Fortress in the Ibar Gorge, a parking lot and a medieval-style village with side features at the foot of the fortress.
The president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, also announced that a copy of a Serbian village from the Nemanjic dynasty era beneath the walls of Maglic, as one of the best-preserved medieval towns in Serbia, would be an attractive tourism and cultural feature and a destination not to be missed in the so-called Dolina Jorgovana (Lilac Valley).
The medieval Maglic, located on a bend of the river Ibar and at an altitude of 150 meters, was built in mid-13th century following the Tatar ravages.
