New Regulation to Facilitate Arrival of Foreigners, 32,000 Work Permits to Be Issued This Year

Since the beginning of the year, over 32,000 work permits have been issued to foreign nationals, and the number increases with each year, stated the director of the National Employment Service, Zoran Martinovic.

Foreigners work in the sectors of construction, hospitality, agriculture and transport, on the jobs for which the employers are not able to find labor force in the local market.

Martinovic explains that there are also citizens of Ukraine, who have a favored access to the labor market, as well as Russian nationals, who are mostly in the IT sector or have their own businesses.

There is a serious demand for foreign workers, Martinovic underlines and points out that, from February 1, new regulations would facilitate their arrival to Serbia.
