In our textile industry, we have good companies which can produce for the local market, but also for foreign companies, and that is why it is important to bring world-famous brands which want to cooperate with our producers. On the other hand, we want to create a hub for the local designers and fashion industry and provide supports, both in getting materials, logistics, and in promotion abroad, said Marko Cadez, the president of the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia (CCIS), at a meeting with representatives of the company Luss Textile and the fashion designer Stefan Djokovic in Raska.

– Through this hub, we want to connect local fashion designers with producers, who could help with the procurement of materials, the production of collections and the exporting procedures. At the same time, we will also work on an intensive promotion and internationalization of local brands and their positioning in the world market – said Cadez.

He added that, in the coming period, the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia would focus on supporting companies such as Luss Textile, so that they would realize cooperation with world fashion houses such as Prada, D&G and LVMH brands.

Savo Mitrovic, the owner of Luss Textile, which specializes in the production of luxury brand collections and cooperates with Italian and German partners such as Philip Plein, Moncler, Hugo Boss and Max Mara, said that professional, trained staff was important in that industry, so that companies could meet the demands and the market and have continuity in production.

He emphasized that the company was interested in cooperating with other world brands as well and that it was ready to provide support to local designers in producing fashion collections and placing them on the market. He said that the construction of a factory was in progress and that it would open the next year and added that employees were already being trained.

The construction of a new factory of Luss Textile is in progress in Krusevac, and the foundation stone was laid down in late June this year. The factory will employ 500 workers. Together with the existing factories in Raska and Vlasotince, Luss Textile will become the largest local and regional producer with over 1,000 employees and a production volume of around a million pieces of clothing a year, the CCIS says in its press release.
