PE Roads of Serbia Part of Open Balkan ETC – Roaming for Postpaid Users for Passing Through North Macedonia

The PE Roads of Serbia has notified the public that, due to the great interest of the distributors and their postpaid users, from August 30, it will be part of the Open Balkan ETC project (ETC – electronic toll collection).

Toll collection within said project, for users who pay the toll in the postpaid system through the distributor, will function in the way whereby, for passing through Serbia, the same conditions will apply as so far (in line with the signed Agreement on Carrying Out Distribution Jobs in the Postpaid System), whereas, for passing through North Macedonia, “roaming” will be enabled for postpaid users.

“Roaming”, that is, toll collection in North Macedonia, will be enabled through the registration of each interested user on the Web Portal – Open Balkan ETC and linking their payment cards (company cards) to the portal.

For passing through North Macedonia, the toll amount will be charged to the user’s registered payment card and be directly paid to the account of the road operator in North Macedonia.

The steps for registering the users on the Web Portal – Open Balkan ETC are the following:

– The distributor sends a written request to the PE Roads of Serbia for opening an account on the Web Portal – Open Balkan ETC;
– The employees at the PE Roads of Serbia open an account for the distributor and send a detailed guideline for the further operations;
– The distributor imports the database of its interested users on the Web Portal – Open Balkan ETC and, for each user, gets a registration link, which it then sends to them;
– The user registers on the Web Portal – Open Balkan ETC through the received link and links their payment card.

After taking said steps, “roaming” is enabled for the user for passing through North Macedonia. “Roaming” for passing through North Macedonia requires no additional costs for the user. Instead, the funds from the registered payment card are reduced only by the amount of the adequate road toll.
