The startup Ovii, with the seat in the United Kingdom, and with the technical team in Novi Sad, has designed “Habet” a platform which uses 3D technology for making video games in order to provide health treatment within the 3D world, with the focus on mental health and the treatment of addiction diseases.

To clarify, this means that the patient is on one side, and their therapist on the other, having a session in the virtual world, each with their own avatar.

– Us here are a part of the team which does research and development, primarily technologies such as blockchain, meta and 3D world, which is very current and popular now, and we also deal in advanced versions of security and safety of online users, by using advanced algorithms for authentication, such as biometric fingerprints, eye pupils and similar – Stefan Dejanovic, an assistant professor at the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad and the technical director at Ovii, explained for Dnevnik.

– First there was an expansion of blockchain. Everybody talked about it and cryptocurrencies, some made money, some lost it, and then it died down, and then Facebook came out with the big news that it was changing its name into Meta, which is short for Metaverse. Their idea was to turn everything into virtual worlds, where each user would have their avatar. They made that biggest splash, but there is still no true implementation, whereas we have been working on this technology for five years now, since 2018. By introducing the blockchain technology and biometric identification for the sake of security, we have come to our principal case at the moment, Habet.

As he says, plenty has been done in the UK, with whose health center they have created the pilot project.
