Awakening of Sjenica-based giant - EUR 5 million for renovation of PIK Pester dairy
Reconstruction of the facility of PIK Pester dairy should commence in about ten days, and it is expected to be put in operation in April 2012. The project is worth 5 million euros, half of which will be provided by the founders of the dairy - the Agricultural Industrial Complex in Sjenica, and the other half by Dobanovci-based Agro.
- The dairy's processing capacity will be 30,000 liters of raw milk per shift. That milk will be used to produce 6,000 kg of top-quality feta cheese a day - it was said at the presentation of the dairy reconstruction project.
Besides, the reconstructed dairy will employ 45 new workers and it will be purchasing more milk from the agricultural manufacturers in that area. Djuro Obradovic, the majority owner, promised to make PIK Pester one of the strongest companies in the Balkans in five years.
The implementation of this project is supported by the Embassy of Canada to Serbia and the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development. PIK Pester, the former giant from Sjenica, got the majority owner about six years ago.
