A group of Serbian engineers and managers in the field of rail infrastructure will travel to China next month, so that Chinese colleagues would share their knowledge and experience with the management of fast railroads with them, said the minister of construction, transport and infrastructure of Serbia, Goran Vesic, as announced on the website of the Government of Serbia.

Vesic reminded that the works on the construction of the fast railroad section from Novi Sad to Subotica, 108 kilometers, were in progress and that they would be completed by the end of the next year.

– As soon as 2025, after our Hungarian partners complete their part from Budapest to the border, we will connect the two capital cities by a fast railroad. Fast railroads have never been built in Serbia and the experience that our experts acquire in China will be precious to them, the future engineers, as well as for the maintenance of railroads – he explained.

The minister noted that, after the fast railroad toward the north, Serbia would start building a fast railroad toward Nis, which would continue further to North Macedonia, and then to Greece, Bulgaria, Albania.

Also, he added, the plan is to build a fast railroad from Belgrade through Zagreb and Ljubljana to Vienna and Venice, and the Belgrade-Bar railroad is being reconstructed.
