State Budget Surplus Realized in January-July Period – Serbia’s Public Debt at 50.7% of GDP

In the January-July period, a state budget surplus of RSD 37.6 billion was realized, which is better than the budget plan by RSD 123.6 billion, considering that a deficit of RSD 86 billion had been planned, the Ministry of Finance said in a press release.

Income of RSD 1,089 billion was realized, and expenditures amounted to RSD 1,051.4 billion.

A surplus of RSD 23.1 billion was realized in July.

Revenues worth RSD 163 billion were collected during July, of which tax revenues amounted to RSD 147.1 billion. The VAT was collected in the amount of RSD 69.9 billion, and excise taxes in the amount of RSD 44.1 billion. Non-tax revenues amounted to RSD 14.6 billion, and the inflow of donations amounted to RSD 1.2 billion in July.

Expenditures amounted to RSD 139.9 billion. Expenditures for employees, in July, amounted to RSD 33.3 billion, capital expenditures were RSD 27.8 billion, the transfers of the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund, the National Health Insurance Fund, the National Employment Service and the Social Insurance Fund for Military Personnel were RSD 18.3 billion, welfare protection expenditures were RSD 13.4 billion, and subsidy payments amounted to RSD 12 billion.

At the level of the state sector, in the January-July period, a fiscal surplus of RSD 58.6 billion and a primary fiscal surplus of RSD 151.4 billion were realized.

At the end of June this year, the public debt of Serbia amounted to around EUR 35.07 billion, which is 50.7% of the gross domestic product (GDP).
