Production of Ceramic Tiles at Polet Keramika Factory to Be Discontinued

The production of ceramic tiles at the factory Polet – Keramika in Novi Becej will be discontinued in mid-September.

In the official press release by Nexe Grupa, the owner of the company, it is announced that the production at this facility in northern Serbia is to stop on the date of September 15, 2023.

– At the end of 2022, Nexe Grupa adopted the strategy for 2022-2030 so as to be more prepared for the current market circumstances and ensure long-term development and business sustainability. The strategy defines areas through which Nexe will create added value, among which is the market orientation which entails the optimization of the business portfolio, which will be realized through this decision as well – the press release says.

Most importantly, according to this decision “the plan is for a part of the workers to continue their work in other members of Nexe Grupa in Serbia, whereas the rest of the employees will be offered adequate severance payments. At the same time, Polet – Keramika d.o.o. will continue fulfilling all the obligations toward the buyers and suppliers.”

As announced, the group’s management is intensively considering alternatives for this production location, including the development of new production activities.
