The German Cooperation Organization in Serbia (GIZ) has announced the opening of the tender for the reconstruction of Kraljeva Vinarija (King’s Winery) in Topola for October.

The reconstruction is carried out within the project EU for You – For Cultural Heritage and Tourism, co-financed by the European Union and the Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany.

In the main winery building, the plan is to fully revitalize the ground floor, which will be used as the exhibit space for the Heritage Museum, and at the same time as the space for wine tasting and the packing of wine.

The production of wine will continue, the tender says.

In the side building, the reconstruction of the ground floor is also planned and it will serve as offices for the employees, and partially for VIP rooms for the visitors and for wine presentations.

The tender will be opened in October and the works are expected to be completed within 6 months of the signing of the agreement with the contractor.

The pre-qualification procedure is open until September 25, and more details can be found HERE.

As announced earlier, the value of the reconstruction is EUR 1.2 million.

Kraljeva Vinarija was raised in 1931 as one of the most modern wineries in the Balkans. It was the pride of King Alexander I of Yugoslavia. It was out of function for a long time, and in 2007, it started producing wines again.

The winery produces white and red wines, and it also features a museum collection and an original, unique collection of wines, for which Kraljeva Vinarija is recognized.

The unique collection of wines in the Balkans from the time of the Karadjordjevic dynasty, which has been stored at a depth of 12 meters in the king’s cellar for over eight decades, consists of around 280 bottles from the time when Serbian kings had vineyards and produced wine in Topola, Rina reports.
