Thanks to credits and leasing, but also savings made on oil, which the new vehicles will not use, the City of Belgrade plans to renew the rolling stock of its public transport company GSP to a considerable extent in the coming period, announced mayor Aleksandar Sapic.

The rough sum is around EUR 300 million, and depending on the City’s capabilities, in the next few years, the funds will be used for the procurement of new vehicles, which will be either gas-powered or electric vehicles, as per the strategic decision. However, the calculation is such that, in fact each procurement from now on will cost the City zero dinars, because on an annual level, the difference in the prices between oil and gas would amount to precisely the cost of the new vehicle we would procure, if not more. I expect that we will procure nearly three hundred buses in the first tour, but we will also try to procure around twenty trams, for the first time after fifteen years – Sapic said, as reported by Beoinfo.
