Agreement signed for design of Detailed Regulation Plan for Grundfos factory in Indjija - One step away from implementation of EUR 80 million investment
An agreement on the design of the Detailed Regulation Plan for the company Grundfos, the world's largest manufacturer of pumps, was signed yesterday in Indjija. The Detailed Regulation Plan for Grundfos will be designed by the Vojvodina Town Planning Institute.
- We are getting closer to the end of one of the largest investments in Serbia, which is the implementation of the Grundfos project on the territory of Indjija. I hope that the Town Planning Institute will manage to finish the Detailed Regulation Plan in as short time as possible, thus creating conditions for the Municipal Administration in Indjija to issue a building permit for the construction of Grundfos factory, which will commence in late 2011 if everything goes as planned - Indjija Mayor Goran Jesic said at the signing ceremony.
Grundfos CEO Jim Toft Nielsen stated that they had already started production at a rented hall in Pazova where the first pump had been produced on April 11.
- We are very satisfied with the people we've hired, most of whom are from Indjija, and they will be the main pillar of the organization once we start operating in Indjija. If everything continues to go as planned, we expect the production in Indjija to start in the first quarter of 2013 - said Jim Toft Nielsen.
Grundfos is the world's largest company in the domain of the production of pumps, covering 65 percent of the global market. They are currently producing pumps at a rented hall in Nova Pazova because Indjija did not have an adequate facility for that purpose. People working there are mainly from Indjija and, since they completed a training in Denmark, they will later train workers at the factory in Indjija.
The investment is worth about EUR 80 million, and this company will in the final phase, in about three years, have about 680 workers. The first phase includes the construction of an administrative building, spanning 24,000 square meters, while another two such facilities should be built in the final phase of the project.
