Vucic Requesting Government to Control Oil Price

The Draft Law on the Amendments to the Law on Excise Taxes that the Government of Serbia adopted in early September envisages an increase of the excise taxes on oil products, tobacco products and alcoholic beverages, coffee and the liquid for the filling of electronic cigarettes by 8% from October 1.

– The excise taxes have now increased. I am asking the Government of Serbia to control the price of oil, because it has skyrocketed, so that the price of oil would not go up to 9 or 10 dinars now, which is how much it is supposed to be. I am asking the government to look into how to solve this problem as soon as possible. Petrol is more or less under control, but our fuel consumption is around 82% diesel. Due to the buses, the armed forces and due to everything else, everything is spent on diesel, and petrol is only 18-19%. We need to see how to protect the people from the inflation too, but on the other hand, also how to help people live more easily and to have that salary raise that is to follow to be something truly perceptible – Vucic said.
