Region’s First Digital Platform for Development of Women-Owned Businesses Promoted at CCIS

The digital platform of women-owned businesses in Serbia, the first in the region, was promoted at the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia (CCIS), and it will enable the networking of women entrepreneurs and the exchange of experiences.

The director of the sector for entrepreneurship at the CCIS, Branislava Simanic, said that this association of business people worked intensively on the economic strengthening of women and improving their entrepreneurship, which had been recognized as a strong resource of new employment.

– We also insist on innovating and digitizing their business processes, because that is the only way for those businesses to be competitive and sustainable in the long term – Simanic said.

She added that an initiative for introducing gender-sensitive statistics and an initiative for amending the law on equalizing the positions of women entrepreneurs and mothers, future entrepreneurs, had been made.

The commissioner for protection of equality, Brankica Jankovic, said that women entrepreneurs needed help when first starting a business, as the door was not always open for them.

– In these uncertain times for private business, this platform will help women who want to do business to support each other, shown their creativity and believe in themselves – Jankovic said.
