Decree on the Manner and Procedure of Construction Waste Management Adopted

At yesterday’s session of the Government of Serbia, the Decree on the Manner and Procedure of Construction and Demolition Waste Management, which for the first time proscribes the manner of the management of that type of waste, was adopted.

– In the past years, there has been a noticeable expansion of construction works and an increased number of construction sites, which, without exception, generate a large amount of waste, which has led to the need to proscribe clear procedures for managing this kind of waste, from the moment it is generated to the moment it is taken care of – the final disposal or recycling – the Government of Serbia says in an announcement.

The amended Decree on Determining the Plan for the Reduction of Packaging Waste for the Period from 2020 until 2024 was adopted, aiming to improve the management of utility packaging waste and incite the development of the infrastructure for a separate collection of packaging waste from households and the sector of services, small retail businesses and hospitality.

– The amendments to the Decree are adopted so as to take care of the packaging waste from non-recyclable packaging, such as multilayer plastics, metalized multilayer plastics and others – the announcement says.
