Reconstruction of Sports Center and Pool in Banjica Announced – Construction of New Baths in Borca, Mladenovac, Grocka, Barajevo and Altina Promised Too

The reconstruction of the pool in Banjica, as well as the Sports Center itself, could begin next year, announced the president of the Temporary Organ of the City of Belgrade, Aleksandar Sapic, and added that the City of Belgrade would take over the management of that facility, Beoinfo reports. He has also announced the construction of new pools in Borca, Mladenovac, Grocka and Barajevo, Altina.

– The problem with this facility needs to be solved systemically, that is, it needs to go fully under the management of the City of Belgrade. In that case, it would have the same status as the Sports Center “11. april”, the Sports Center “Milan Gale Muskatirovic”, or the Sports Center “Tasmajdan”. The municipalities simply have no capacity for managing pools, because all pools are unprofitable. We will prepare the project of the reconstruction and repair of the facility in which the pool is located most urgently, because we cannot allow for the indoor pool of the Sports Center “Vozdovac” to not be operational for a longer time period. I am not just saying that because of the Partizan Water Polo Club, which is a symbol of local and international water polo, but also because of all the people who live in this part of the city – Sapic said.

Construction of pools in suburban settlements announced

He announced the construction of new pools in Borca, Mladenovac, Grocka and Barajevo, Altina.

– These are mostly pools in suburban municipalities. Some of them will be indoor pools, some outdoor, but with the possibility of setting up inflatable structures in the winter – Sapic specified.
